A Big Thank You to everyone who helped make the Love Your Block fix-up the Field Day & Community Clean-Up happen! As you can see, the kids eventually tool over but that is what it was all about!
??
On Saturday, September 24th we collected about 15 bags of trash along Hillcrest Street near Fort Pitt Elementary and Gator Field. On Sunday, September 25th volunteers and youth helped to repaint the bleachers and put a new door in on the press box up at Gator Field. Kids also pitched in and gave back to the community by distributing??potted plants to the residents on Hillcrest. It ended up being a truly beautiful day and a wonderful community gathering.
??
We have one more "Love Your Block" work day on Saturday, October 22nd from 10:00AM-2:00PM. Please try to come out as we need to finish all of the wonderful work that we started!!! We will also be working on several other community projects that same day including a harvest of our sunflower lot. Please sign up for our mailing list to stay informed!
??
Again thank you to everyone in GCAT and all the volunteers that came out to support the project!
