Summit Academy Cleaning-up Garfield

Summit_09MAY13

Summit Academy was a huge help to Garfield this week.  There were 14 students and their teachers that cleaned and greened up several of Penn Avenue’s green spaces.  They mulched and weeded garden beds and tree pits on Penn Ave.  They even went up to Kite Hill park to mow the grass.  We are very fortunate to have such hardworking students from Summit to help us maintain the streets of Garfield as well as volunteer help from MWFA Contracting.  We are grateful for their time and for their teachers who coordinate their help and bring the out to our neighborhood.

Garfield can always use and extra hand to help keep our streets and green spaces clean.  We always welcome help and volunteers.  Check out GCAT’s calendar for our monthly clean-ups and green-ups.
