Green happenings in Garfield!

Green Garfld Map 2

Some people might not know it, but there’s a lot of green initiatives happening in Garfield; vegetable gardens, butterfly gardens, chickens, rain barrels, farms, and trees.  All these things have popped up in the neighborhood through the efforts of Garfield residents.  These efforts having been popping up organically over the past few years. GCAT has been tracking all of these initiatives and small projects and GCAT volunteer Gary Cirrincione put together a map that shows all these green locations.  It’s incredible to see how these initiatives have been changing the landscape and vibe of Garfield.  Now that the weather is nice, we encourage you to check out these sites and be inspired by the hard work of these Garfield residents.

Happy Earth Day!
