Launching the Garfield Pitch-In Project!

GCAT is excited to launch our Pitch-In project on May 7th! This project will place 15 trash cans into Garfield to help combat our neighborhood litter.  There are 15 Garfield residents who stepped up and will each adopt trash can that they will maintain for a year. The cans will be for public use and will be located at “litter hot-spots” in Garfield.  Local artists have decorated all 15 trash cans so that they can be easily spotted!

On May 7th, GCAT will be hosting an “adoption ceremony” for the participating residents at 113 N. Pacific Street.  At this event residents will receive their “adoption papers”, their trash can, and a year’s supply of trash bags.

Friday, May 6th, the Pitch-In cans will be on display for GA/GI Fest!  They will be located next to the Night Market at 5201 Penn Avenue.  Also at this location, Garfield’s community gardens (Kincaid Street and Eastfield Gardens) will be selling plants to help support their 2016 gardening season!

The Garfield Pitch-In project is sponsored by the Sprout Fund, with help from Bloomfield Garfield Corporation, Assemble, and Most Wanted Fine Art!
